Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure this tops a record for distance recordings. 9 seconds of a delay for the sound to travel from the P-50, all of the 2 miles to my camera. Pretty cool if you ask me! I arrived today not even knowing if I would be able to see it from the road, but I was greeted with a clear view of it. I ended up moving due to noisy traffic, and thankfully there was a pile of dirt that I could set up over that dampened the sound of vehicles. Referencing/Interesting facts: ---Bristol's P-50 is the slightly higher pitched one, Paris is the slightly lower pitched one. ---Using the reactivations, you can hear/see how it takes 9 seconds for the sound to reach me. Before anyone asks, yes I am certain that the siren heard 9 seconds late of sight is Paris, because when I was filming I heard the noise coming in the exact direction of Paris' siren (plus math equations support it) ---(here's a mind-boggler for ya) I was not within the 70 dB range of even a single siren today! Everything was very quiet from here, despite them being P-50s. ---Sound can travel different speeds in different temperatures. If this were filmed in the winter, the delay would be slightly different.
