As many of you already know, I'm a big fan of Wave Ceptor watches from Casio, including those with Multiband 5 and Mutiband 6 technology. In short, these watches have built-in radio receivers which allow them to pick up Atomic Time information from one or more long-range transmitters in different parts of the world. The watches can set themselves to the correct time, right down to the second, and then keep checking themselves every night to maintain that accuracy. I love how that happens! In the past, I've reviewed budget-friendly Wave Ceptor watches (generally less than $50 each and sometimes less than $40 each). These newer variations of the WV-200 retain the functions and features I like with slightly updated internal modules. The major difference between these new watches and previous versions of the WV-200 is that the new versions have LED backlights instead of electroluminescent backlights. The new WV-200R watches use module 3447. They should run for about 3 years before needing new batteries, which are CR1620 lithium batteries.
