In this episode, Dr. Alejandro Suarez, Program Director in the NSF Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure and co-chair of the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot Program Management Office, gives an overview of the NAIRR Pilot, resources available, and details on how to learn more and apply. About the speaker: Alejandro Suarez is a Program Director in the NSF Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (OAC). He also serves as co-chair of the National AI Research Resource Pilot Program Management Office. Dr. Suarez works on various projects and programs funded by OAC concerning high-performance computing acquisitions, major research instrumentation, software & data infrastructure, and large facilities. Dr. Suarez joined NSF as a AAAS S&T Policy Fellow in 2014 before transitioning to a federal staff role. Prior to joining NSF, Dr. Suarez completed his B.S. in applied physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, earned a Ph.D. in computational Physics from Penn State University and served as a National Research Council postdoctoral associate at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory.
