Respiratory viruses (Bronchitis, influenza, the common cold) are often very deadly to those affected by CF, but for this project, I will investigate if respiratory viruses could be repurposed to alleviate symptoms of CF. In this project, Betsy Espinal explores how gene therapy can be used to cure genetic diseases like Cystic Fibrosis. This disease was one of the first diseases to be considered for gene therapy, however no current treatment exists.
