In this video, Dr Mike Lloyd, The CTAD Clinic Director, discusses how and why it might be useful to share that a person has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) with their friends and family. Mike goes through the circumstances that may need to be present before this is done and the benefits of talking openly about dissociative experiences, such as having parts (alters). While not suitable or appropriate in all instances, Mike talks about what can be gained if the decision to share that a person has DID is made. This is a question that has been asked several times in the CTAD Clinic Channel comments, and we would like to thank you all for these.
