Filmed with Samsung Galaxy S9 on August 10, 2019 This is the main elevator at the Michigan Science Center in downtown Detroit. It's a very nice 700A with a partial glass cab and very fast leveling, as well as cool custom dial position indicators at the landings. Since this museum is very overrated (and therefore busy) this elevator is also busy. I had to cut out parts of the video when the elevator was stopped to save time, as it takes a while for people to figure out whether or not they're on the right (CLEARLY LABELED) floor. There's probably a better chance of winning the lottery than taking a solo nonstop end-to-end ride. If anyone watching is willing to pay money to visit this museum (which I do not recommend if you're visiting the area), then I would suggest using the stairs as much as possible and leaving the elevator for those who actually need it. This lift and the rainbow escalator are the only things worth seeing here. This building was originally the Detroit Science Center. It closed in 2011, and reopened in 2012 as the Michigan Science Center. This lift was added during the 1999-2000 renovation.
