Saw the lake level dropping on the Stevens data site and flew the drone over to the dam. There is a wide spillway designed to self level the lake. The sluice gate can be used when there is flooding but there is a strong output flowing through which must be the reason the lake drops too quickly. We need to shut off this flow at the gate and maybe raised the back of the boat launch so we stop losing all of our water. The low water over the past 7-8 years has cause weed growth around most of the piers on the north and east sides of the lake. They are killing this glacial lake. Sad. We need all new people on the board of Long Lake Improvement and Sanitation Association to return Long Lake to a healthy thriving lake again. They have only 1 meeting in May. LLISA.org
