For years, I thought my inability to finish things meant there was something wrong with me. I’d start a new project, a new hobby, a new routine, feel excited for a week… and then quietly drop it. My journals are full of plans, broken promises, and a lot of shame. In this video, I’m sharing what I discovered when I looked back at those entries, why I kept blaming a “lack of discipline,” and how a values exercise (plus an ADHD diagnosis) helped me see my brain in a completely different way. Instead of forcing myself into rigid routines, I’m experimenting with structures that leave room for spontaneity, seasons, and curiosity. If you’ve ever felt ashamed of your unfinished projects—or worried you’ll never stick with anything long enough to reach your goals—I hope this gives you a bit of relief and a different way to think about yourself. 0:00 Why I Start So Many Things 0:54 Trapped in the Shame Loop 2:27 When My Values Surprised Me 4:50 A Different Way to Do “Discipline” 5:57 Learning to Work With My Brain FIND ME HERE: Instagram: @lisatrueblood_ Substack: https://lisatruebloodwrites.substack....
