Roger led this the second session of a discussion on diffusion policy, focusing on a paper about using a Diffusion Policy for robot control. The paper, https://arxiv.org/pdf/2303.04137.pdf, uses an image and robot position information to predict a series of actions needed to reach a goal. The diffusion process is conditioned using a CNN-based method and a transformer-based method. The results depict how the diffusion process refines the distribution of possible positions to achieve a trajectory. Ted provided a high-level explanation of diffusion models, highlighting that instead of directly outputting probabilities like many traditional models, these models predict the score function on the probabilities. This process involves using gradient descent to train a neural network, but with a focus on predicting score function values rather than probabilities. The group also discussed the potential of using gradient fields for faster inference in their model. Links Our Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/East-Bay-Tri-V...
