A Primitive Superstition Holding Physics Back

James refutes a key notion in the philosophy of science held by Tim Maudlin and others: laws of nature. Laws of nature, or physical laws, should be replaced with a metaphysics which holds entities as primaries. Examples from the history of physics and from the movie Agora are given to demonstrate the superiority of thinking in terms of entities and their actions rather than laws. Belief in the primacy of entities is part of Inductica's approach which has lead us to a belief in the aether.
