SCHOTT CERAN® is delicate? We can assure you that you will not have to handle your cooktop panel with kid gloves. Just use a soft touch. When your cooktop panel becomes your workspace, grains of sand can land on them and leave scratches. But that will not affect the cooktop panel’s stability or functionality. Regular cleaning helps. But please don't use abrasive cleaners or scratchy sponges. We don't recommend hand soap either. Paper towels, a glass-ceramic cleaner and a razor scraper, and a soft towel will do. They will even remove chalky residue easily. In addition, always lift up your pots and pans. Stainless or enameled steel cookware that is slightly concave on the bottom and fits snugly onto the cooking area is best. If sugar, aluminum foil, or plastic should come into contact with the hot cooking area, react right away: Push the residue away immediately with a suitable metal scraper before it burns in.
