Trail running Wilder Kaiser. From Kitzbuehel to Ellmauer Halt mountain bike and trail run

The weather finally cleared and i decided to do a mountain bike and trail run from Kitzbühel thru Reith, over the Astberg then down to Ellmau and then up to the Grutten Hut where i left the bike. The views from this point of the Wilder Kaiser are spectacular. I left my bike there and put on my new Scott Supertrac RC 2 trail running shoes. The Trail is rocky from the start and it wasn't long until i found the first snow. The trail the gets very steep and you need a head for heights for this bit. This path is a Via Ferrata/Klettersteig path if that helps you feel more secure. The peak of the climb was in mist which gave the surrounding peaks a mysterious feel. The run down was very challenging as you would expect from a mountain like this. I had a very tasty slice of cake at the Gruttenhütte before mountain biking down the rest of the mountain and cycling back to Kitzbuhel.
