5th Mediterranean Water Forum held in Tunis from 5 to 7 February 2024 "Together for shared water sobriety" on the road to the 10th World Water Forum of Bali (May 2024) MORE THAN 2800 PARTICIPANTS OVER THE 3-DAYS FORUM • 35 COUNTRIES REPRESENTED FROM WHICH 22 MEDITERRANEAN COUNTRIES AND ITS NEIGHBOURHOOD • MINISTERIAL HIGH LEVEL PANEL : DECLARATION OF TUNIS • 21 SIDE EVENTS • 6 THEMATIC SESSIONS Find more detailed information on the official website: www.5forummw.com Upon invitation of the Republic of Tunisia, this event was jointly organized by the Mediterranean Water Institute / Institut Méditerranéen de l'Eau (IME) with the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UFMs), in partnership with the National water exploitation and distribution company (SONEDE), with the support of the national organization committee composed of the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Environment, the National Sanitation Utility (ONAS) and the Canal Exploitation and Water Supply Company of the North (SECADENORD), under the patronage of the World Water Council. As an important milestone event of the Mediterranean regional process for the 10th World Water Forum, to be held in Bali in May 2024, the Mediterranean Water Forum aims to consolidate cooperation and the exchange of know-how and experience in the field of water by mobilising all the stakeholders in the Mediterranean region concerned by water issues. The themes proposed for the Mediterranean regional process are in line with the priorities of the 10th World Water Forum in Bali. The six themes selected for the Mediterranean process are as follows: 1. Nexus WEFE « Water/Energy/Food/Environment » 2. Water mix and new vision of demand for 2050 3. Drought and flood prevention and management 4. Regulation, right to water and water rights, conflict prevention / resolution 5. New sources of financing for water, performance monitoring and mixed financing 6.
