ITW Performance Polymers acquired Devcon® in the 70s. Over the years, we’ve expanded the product portfolio and offer various different products. At the Danvers Massachusetts facility, this is where Devcon was founded in the 1950s. Al Creighton, the founder of Devcon, was looking for a safer alternative to welding. One of his friends, who had been in the U.S. Army, had survived the perils of war only to died while repairing a fuel tank. This drove Al to develop a safe non-flammable alternative to welding.
