Geothermal Webinars 2025: The GEMINI Geothermal Energy Project

The GEMINI Geothermal Energy Project – Demonstration to Transformation on the Island of Ireland This is the tenth and final webinar in our 2025 Geothermal Webinar Series. Geothermal energy will be a cornerstone to achieving Ireland and Northern Ireland’s decarbonisation targets. Approximately 30% of energy consumed on the island is for heating and cooling, largely supplied through the combustion of imported fossil fuels. We will introduce the GEMINI project which is demonstrating that geothermal energy is suited to both urban and rural areas, individual users and networks with larger heat demands. The geothermal technologies deployed in this project will help to provide new heating and cooling options in public sector buildings such as swimming pools, utilities offices and a university campus. It will also support the development of a bespoke training facility for residential scale installations. This webinar will outline the toolkits, materials, data products and information GEMINI will produce for a range of stakeholders across the island.
