In this video, I’ll show you a step-by-step method to make Plain Instant Rava Idli at home, perfect for busy mornings or a simple weekend breakfast. ⏱️ Cooking Time & Yield Prep Time: 30 minutes Cooking Time: 12 minutes Total Time: 42 minutes Makes: 12 idlis 🥣 Ingredients – Plain Instant Rava Idli • Rava / Sooji / Semolina – 1 cup • Curd (Yogurt) – ½ cup • Salt – ½ tsp (or to taste) • Water – approx. ¾ cup (as needed) • Baking soda or Eno – 1 tsp • Oil – for greasing idli moulds 👩🍳 How to Make Plain Instant Rava Idli • In a mixing bowl, combine rava, curd, and salt. Whisk well to remove any lumps. • Gradually add water to form a smooth batter. The batter may look thin initially, but the rava will absorb the water as it rests. • Let the batter rest for 20 minutes. • Meanwhile, prepare the steamer and lightly grease the idli moulds with oil. • Just before steaming, add baking soda or Eno to the batter and mix gently in one direction. The batter will bubble and rise. • Pour the batter into the idli moulds, filling them ¾ full. • Steam the idlis on high heat for 5 minutes, then reduce to medium heat for 7 minutes. • Once cooked, remove the moulds from the steamer and allow the idlis to cool for 5 minutes before demoulding. • Carefully remove the idlis using a knife and serve hot with sambar and chutney. 🌟 Tips for Perfect Rava Idli • Use Eno or baking soda just before steaming for soft, fluffy idlis • Serve immediately for the best texture and taste ❤️ Don’t Forget!
