I planted my sorghum on 30 inch rows into plots of soybeans that had been drilled on 7 1/2 inch rows. Just before planting the sorghum I sprayed the fields to clean up any existing weeds. It will be very interesting, at least to me, to see how well this two-layer approach works. Ideally, the soybeans will come on strong and suppress weeds between the rows and provide plenty of summer forage as the sorghum is growing and filling in. My fear is that the deer will hammer them during the early growing stages though.
