Aspen Station on Västra Stambanan (the Western Mainline) is located on the south shore of lake Aspen in Lerum. It has a sizable commuter park-and-ride for cars and bicycles/mopeds. Trains arrive from the east via a sweeping curve along the lake and from the west they emerge from the Aspen tunnel. Originally, when the mainline was single-track, until about 1910, trains went around the peninsula to the station instead of through the tunnel. Filmed on 27-July-2021. 0:17 - Eastbound X2 at 16:35 (442). 0:37 - Westbound Västtågen X61 61401 arriving at the station at 16:38 (3561). 1:20 - Westbound NRFAB Rc 1146 pulled freight (built as SJ Rc in 1975 by ASEA) at 16:24 (49601). 2:10 - Eastbound SJ X40 viewed from the top of the tunnel at 16:08 (184). 2:20 - Westbound Västtågen X61 enters the east entrance of the tunnel at 16:07 (3559). 2:33 - Westbound Green Cargo Rc4 1188 emerges from the west entrance of the tunnel and an eastbound Västtågen X61 enters the tunnel (15:48 - Trains 4531 and 3562). At this exact spot where I am filming, there was a big landslide (Svartå skredet/raset) in 1913 where trains were temporarily led past this area with a Y-shaped lead-around where westbound trains would come from the tunnel or from the track around the peninsula and head south and then come to a stop a few hundred yards south of the current track and then pull forward and switch on to a track turning left again and emerge back on the mainline past the landslide area. From May to July 2021, Flixtrain's Gothenburg to Stockholm trains (and vice versa), occasionally arrived and departed from Partille due to construction at Sävenäs/Olskroken on Västra Stambanan (the Western Mainline).
