Hobi will forever be known as a member of BTS, aka the biggest boy group on the planet. But he has been successfully recognized as a solo artist, with the Rolling Stones noting that Hobi "paved the way" for K-pop artists in the US music festival scene. Lollapalooza Festival Director Houston Powell shared the same thoughts. He said that Hobi's performance opened the door for K-pop at the festival. Despite that incredible achievement, Hobi has maintained a very humble mindset. This was perfectly captured when PSY reached out to him to perform at his "Summer Swag" festival. Hobi never assumed the status of his popularity, so he made sure to introduce himself as a BTS member. Hobi even wondered if the local crowd would recognize him after he had sold out multiple shows worldwide! He shared this concern with a very confused PSY. As expected, the crowd recognized Hobi. Okay, maybe I kinda understand Hobi's concern about not being recognized at PSY's festival. But what baffled me was that he had the same concern about a festival he was headlining. Fast forward to 2025, and Hobi still didn't get how much impact he had at Lollapalooza. Just watch him looking confused as to why the crowd went wild when he passed by. Despite earning the title "idol" himself, Hobi had never stopped being a fan of other artists. Be it his childhood idols, his current favorite, his junior, or even a TikTok star. Niana Guerrero shared her experience meeting Hobi. She was so puzzled by how Hobi seemed to forget that he is one of the most popular artists in recent history.
