Sadly, these Sealed Temple fights will basically be the same as other low level solo vids. These bosses just are too strict in terms of what must be done for a low level solo character. This one I did do some differences compared to the guide though that makes it both more consistent and true to the spirit of solo. The guide opts to have everyone KO'd with Angel Rings, Thornlets, Aegis Shields for the zombie attacks, so that if they get revived they quickly die again. The problem with this of course is the boss or elementals could attack them, which would throw an attack that should have gone toward your solo character or messed with spell damage that should have been reflected. The zombie attacks can also target petrified, so true solo isn't really possible for both this and Enuo. Petrified doesn't get affected by them though, and boss cannot target them with anything else. It also stops the Paraclete counterattack because no one is KO'd, which tries to revive someone as a zombie which of course can then take hits. The guide actually says that doing this is banned, but it's more true to the spirit of solo than using the KO'd method. Which is why I'm using it. I did do the guide's method when doing Freelancer solo though. Now onto the actual boss pattern and strategies. Main boss pattern is Breath Wing, Zombie Powder, Blaster Maelstrom, Poison Breath, Wing Attack Zombie Breath, Zombie Powder, Evil Eye Breath Wing. Breath Wing is % based, so not a huge threat. Zombie Powder we have no protection for, so we need to hope our magic evade works or that it decides to target petrified(similar to how it can target KO'd), Blaster is Reflected. Maelstrom is eventually blocked with Dragon Kiss, but we have to get buffs up first, so if it happens before that then heal. Poison Breath covered by Angel Robe, and Wing Attack is hopefully blocked by Genji Shield or passive. Zombie Breath is a game over without Aegis Shield Block, Zombie Powder is the same as before, and Evil Eye is immune by Aegis. The guide uses Freelancer here and just gets Mix/Combine. It mixes for Haste and Dragon's Kiss and also then just spams combine after slowing the boss and hopes the HPs line up. The problem with this is that the elementals will be spamming White Wind, so there is no control of the HP, and if you defeat them not together the elementals will explode. This is the one Sealed Temple boss where deviating from the guide's strategy is more consistent. Most of main game, I was on my own, but Sealed Temple has been routed before. Obviously, Mix/Combine are still needed, but I decide to go with Mime for a third skill slot for Jump. We can jump over the turns with the potential game over attacks with its third skill slot. We don't get first strike, so we'll need to Haste first since it's more consistent than Slow Cannon, then try to Slow Cannon the main boss. Elementals don't matter if they're slowed or not. Reflect Ring covers their Aeroga, and White Wind isn't going to do much with this strategy. Similar to the main strategy, we rush for the buffs/debuffs and get Dragon's Kiss and regen active through mixing. Since we're on Mime, we do not have an item command and can't switch shields. We use Genji Shield here, so we're not immune to Evil Eye turn, so if that comes up before we're set up, we need to hope for Angel Robe's magic evade to save us. Zombie Breath will also kill if we don't jump, which we can't afford to during the setup phase. After that, just jump over turns 1 and 3 of the pattern, and the boss only way of winning would be actually hitting with Wing Attack. As mentioned with the guide's strategy, spamming Combine means no control of when stuff dies due to White WInd, so before attacking, we lower the elementals MP so they can't use White Wind. When elementals can no longer cast that, if boss is at full HP and 2 needle cannons takes out the elementals, the HP lines up to kill all at the same time, so MP does not need to be at 0 to avoid Self Destruct. I should have mixed Potion + Ether to full heal an elemental before combining Needle Cannon in case both were below 3k, but one of the 2 was above, so the HP still lines up. This could be even safer if you jump over turn 2 and only attack/mix on the 4th turn with Breath Wing only. It would also greatly increase the length of the fight, and if boss gets through 99% evade + the passive that can block hits too, then oh well, just wasn't meant to be. Rules: Solo Character (Only applies to boss fights) Lowest Reasonable Level No Player induced death/petrify status. Enemy inflicted against enemy is fine. No Level Manipulation(Exception: Aging status) No Blessed Kiss I will try not to use Hide during boss battles if I can, but no guarantee on it.
