The sugar scoops are stairs leading down to the water at the back of each pontoon. The North sugar scoop has had a chunk sawed off of the boat to make a spot for a boarding ladder. Both sugar scoops were added-on to the boat after it left the factory. Many people have said that they represent the worst fiberglass work they have seen on any boat, and there a lot of sad boats in the yard. In this video everything that was ready to fall off, got ground off, some fiberglass was laid over the top in an attempt to seal water leaks that had the flotation foam saturated with rainwater. Then gelcoat was rolled over the top of everything.
