Taught By God to Love | Until He Returns

This week we continued in 1 Thessalonians and looked at Paul’s encouragement to a young church that was already doing well—but still needed to grow. Paul reminds them that sanctification—growing to be more like Jesus—shows up in everyday life. ➤ It requires growing in love. ➤ It requires quiet faithfulness. ➤ It requires a faithful witness. They were already loving one another. They were generous, even in hardship. But Paul says, “Do this more and more.” He calls them to aspire to live quietly, mind their own affairs, work with their hands, and walk properly before outsiders. The Christian life is not about drawing attention to ourselves. It’s about steady love, humble work, and faithful obedience that points people to Christ. Sanctification is not flashy. It is daily faithfulness shaped by the love of God.
