There was no explanation as to why his Xbox was banned or if it was a glitch. And it still baffles me why Microsoft feels this is fair. Maybe an Xbox console ban is fair after a very thorough investigation but thorough investigations are never conducted by Xbox because a lot of people get wrongfully banned from one inaccurate complaint. I’ve had my console get banned before so I gave my insight on this but I do not work for Xbox so everything I say is speculative. My subscriber was scammed 2 years ago by an Xbox Account Thief. The Xbox account thief told him he will give him an unlock all tool for a game on the condition that he sends him his login credentials to his Xbox account. It turned out that there was no unlock all tool. It was an Xbox account thief that hacked his Xbox account and offered to give it back to him for money. I confronted the Xbox account thief but he ended up changing his gamertag and was most likely never banned. The victim of the scam was banned. To make it worse, his entire Xbox console was banned permanently. Thankfully, the victim did move on to PS5 a while back so the Xbox console ban did not affect him too much. I just find it absolutely baffling how a scam victim gets bricked but the scammer gets off scot free. I don’t usually rant about people’s bans but these circumstances are an exception because it seems too ironic. Scamming is not allowed on Xbox. Why not ban the scammers in the first place? The victim was inactive on Xbox for a while but decided to go set it up to go through the accounts, considering the Xbox console was used by his family. It’s possible someone in his family did something a while back that lead to the Xbox getting banned. But if that were the case, why couldn’t a thorough investigation lead to the scammer getting banned? The victim was 13 years old at the time. So a thorough investigation should’ve concluded that a kid cannot be held entirely responsible in the hands of an Xbox account thief. You can’t expect younger players to sit down and read the Xbox Community Standards. Even then, it doesn’t matter since the Xbox account thief never got banned. The victim never got his account back either. On the bright side, he got over it and is happy with his PS5. Xbox needs to start banning the scammers too, hands down.
