Cast: Duck 🐤 銚子観音/Choshi Kannon 千葉県銚子市馬場町1-1 http://iinumakannon.com/ ご由緒 『飯沼山観世音縁起絵巻』などによると、神亀五年（728）の春、銚子の浦が荒れて漁ができなくなり五月に皷が淵の沖の海上が光り輝いたある夜、漁師の清六が、「輝いているところで牛堀の漁師長蔵とともに漁をせよ」との霊夢を見た。翌朝、沖に出ると同じ霊夢を見た長蔵が対岸から来たので、二人で網をおろしたところ、左の脇に瑪瑙（めのう）をはさんだ十一面観音が出現した。二人は出家して草庵を結び尊像を安置加持して諸人の病を癒したので、虐除（ぎゃくよけ）法師と呼ばれたと伝えられる。 天平年間（729～749）になり、行基菩薩がこの奇瑞を耳にして、厨子を作って奉納した。しかし尊像のほうが少し大きくて入らなかったので、行基が祈願すると、尊像は首をたれて、みずから厨子に入ったという。 後に、弘法大師が東国を巡錫した弘仁年間（810～824）、この尊像を拝したが、海中出現のままの姿だったので、台座や光背を作り、開眼供養をおこなった。そして、下総国の守護千葉氏の系統を引く海上長者が、尊像と大師に帰依して、壮大な伽藍を天生六年（1578）建立したとされる。 History According to "Iinumayama Kanzeon Engi Emaki" etc., in the spring of the 5th year of Kamikame (728), Choshi no Ura became rough and fishing became impossible. During the Tenpyo era (729-749), Gyoki Bodhisattva heard this Chery and made a kitchen and dedicated it. However, the statue was a little bigger and couldn't be entered, so when Gyoki prayed, the statue was struck down and entered the kitchen himself. Later, during the Konin era (810-824) when Kobo Daishi traveled to Togoku, he worshiped this statue, but since it was still appearing in the sea, he made a pedestal and a halo and held an eye-opening memorial service.
