Garlic bread has to be one of, if not, the most universally loved breads of all time. These Triple Garlic Knots take the “garlic” in “garlic bread” to another level with the use of not only a garlic butter, but garlic oil and garlic powder. How many times can I say garlic in this description? I don’t know, but it feels like it’s been too many times. But that just goes to show just how garlicky (and delicious) these Triple Garlic Knots are. Ingredients (4 servings) 2 cups Bread flour 3/4 cup warm water 1-2 tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp yeast 4 tbsp garlic olive oil 6 garlic cloves 4 tbsp salted butter 1 tbsp chopped parsley garlic powder 1 c canned whole peeled tomatoes 3 tbsp olive oil parmesan for garnish (optional) Recipe (4 servings) Garlic Knots 1. Whisk together bread flour, 1 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tsp salt and 2 tsp yeast 2. Add warm water and garlic olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until the dough can be handled and pour out onto counter top 3. Knead until dough is elastic, smooth and a ball has formed, about 8-10 minutes 4. Add some olive oil to a large mixing bowl and put dough in the bowl and cover for 1.5-2hrs to rise in a warm place 5. After dough has doubled in size, section into four equal portions and stretch and form four knots 6. Grease baking dish and place knots next to one another in a 2x2 grid 7. Preheat oven to 450°F 8. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes 9. Brush knots with 1 tbsp melted butter and bake for 10 minutes 10. Sprinkle garlic knots with garlic powder and brush with 1/3 of the garlic butter and bake for 5 more minutes 11. Finish the rolls with the remaining garlic butter mixture and serve warm with tomato sauce 12. Optional - garnish with flaky salt and parmesan cheese if desired Garlic Butter 1. Melt butter and add 4-5 cloves of chopped garlic and chopped parsley 2. Mix to combine and adjust seasoning with salt if desired Tomato Sauce 1. Add olive oil to a medium heat sauce pan and add 2 cloves of chopped garlic 2. Cook until fragrant but not browned 3. Add canned tomatoes and crush with mixing spoon in the sauce pan 4. Adjust seasoning with remaining sugar and salt 5. Cook until bubbling for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally Music Greatfool / Somewhat Happy / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com Johannes Bornlöf / The First Fall of Snow / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com Megan Wofford / Sweet Hope / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com
