White Rice with Cuban Style Black Beans and Sweet Plantains [Arroz con Frijoles Negros y Platanos]

Let’s Create! Arroz con frijoles negros estilo Cubano y platanos maduros fritos or white rice with black beans Cuban style and sweet fried plantains. This is one of Cubas traditional meals. It is also enjoyed in Puerto Rico. During my teenage years, my best friend back in the 80s was from Cuba. His mom used to cook for us and I watched her creating some very delicious meals including the black beans. I broke down the video into three parts: • PART I: Cooking of Black Beans • PART II: Perfectly Cooked White Rice • Part III: Frying Sweet Plantains I could have used Puerto Rican Sofrito, but choose to use its replacement for those who don’t have it handy... and too keep with my memories of that GREAT FAMILY from my teenage years in Puerto Rico.
