Hello my Friends! This dish is a Staple down here in the South and it is the Best Comfort Food! It is Crispy on the Outside and Tender and Juicy on the Inside. It also a nice heavy Crust on it and drizzle with some creamy Milk Gravy! Your Family will love this Recipe, serve with any Vegetable. For The Steak 6 (4-5 oz) tenderized Beef cube steaks 2 cups self rising flour Seasonings: Kosher Salt, Seasoning Salt, Black Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, White Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Ground Thyme 1 1/2 cups buttermilk 1 jumbo egg, lightly beaten 1 tsp baking soda Dashes of Hot Sauce Vegetable Shortening or any Oil For The Gravy 2 tbsp reserved oil 2 tbsp all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups whole milk Salt and Pepper, to taste Cook's Note: You can add any kind of Seasonings for your Steak; you may also add more milk for more Creaminess. Season steaks with salt and pepper on both sides; In 2 pans add flour and seasonings in one and buttermilk, egg, and hot sauce in the other. Coat Steak in Seasoned Flour then in Buttermilk mixture then back in flour; set on a long pan for 15-20 Minutes. Meanwhile, add shortening into a cast iron skillet or heavy pan and heat it between 325-350 degrees. Add steaks and fry on both sides for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Place cooked steaks on a pan with wire rack to drain access grease. ( Place steaks in the Oven to keep warm) Drain grease from the skillet and reserve the 2 tbsp oil. Add oil and flour and cook for 2-3 Minutes; next add milk and cook until thickened about 3-5 Minutes. Add gravy on top on Steak and serve with your favorite Sides.
