Seema Malaka Temple in the Beira Lake in Colombo, Sri Lanka. (සීමා මාලකය)

Seema Malaka is a Buddhist temple situated in the Beira Lake in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is part of th Gangaramaya Temple located not far from it to its east. Originally constructed in the late 19th century, the temple sank into the water in the 1970s and was replaced by the present structure, which was designed by the famed Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. The temple is constructed on three platforms over water, which are connected to the mainland and with each other by pontoon bridges. On one of the side platforms is a Bodhi Tree grown from a branch of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura. The same platform has small shrines dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu, Kataragama deviyo and Ganesha. Filmed and edited by Leonard Jayawardena. Music track "fruits of Life" by Jimena Contreras.
