adapted from Greg Adams' 2004 artist notes: More than a few people associate the Cookies' 1962 hit "Chains" with the Fabs, since the bowl-haired Brits covered it on their 1963 album Please Please Me. (The Fabs reportedly also attempted Little Eva's "Keep Your Hands Off My Baby" at the same recording session.) This was recorded in one take. The Cookies were the house vocal group at DIMENSION Records and sang on numerous sides, including many of Little Eva's. "Chains" was the group's first hit, #6 on BILLBOARD's Hot R&B Singles, #17 on the Hot 100 and #4 in Canada. Because of the Fabs connection, it's as well-remembered as "Don't Say Nothin' Bad (About My Baby)" even though the latter attained a higher chart position.
