How To Make Sweet & Sour Balti Chicken - Quick & Easy Chicken Recipe 🔔Please click on the link below and subscribe to Curries With Bumbi so that I can bring more new recipes for you- / @currieswithbumbi Ingredients - Serves 5 to 6 780 gm boneless skinless chicken thighs 1 medium to large/150 gm onion 20 gm/6 large garlic cloves/ 1 tablespoon finely grated garlic 2 tbsp/50 ml thick plain unflavored yogurt or Greek yogurt 3 tbsp/85 ml tomato puree. Can also use tomato ketchup 2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce/sweet mango chutney/maple syrup/honey/sugar 1 tsp salt or as per taste 1/2 tsp sugar 1 tsp garam masala powder 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder 1/4 th tsp freshly ground black pepper 3 to 4 tablespoons heavy cream/cooking cream/sour cream chopped green chillies and coriander leaves for garnish 3 to 4 tbsp oil This can be stored in the refrigerator for 5 to 6 days or you can freeze it Serve this with rice or naan METHOD - Heat oil over medium high heat Add chopped onions along with a sprinkle of salt and fry till the onions are translucent Add finely grated garlic and stir over medium heat for a minute Add the chicken and lay them out in a single layer over medium high heat for a few minutes Stir the chicken once and again lay them in a single layer for a few more minutes or until they start getting little specks of brown on them In a bowl add the yogurt, tomato puree, sweet chilli sauce and mix very well until you get a smooth sauce Once the chicken turns little brown, add black pepper and the sauce along with a fourth of a cup of water Stir over medium heat , add salt and sugar Add about 3/4th cup of water and allow to simmer on medium low heat for 15 mins or until the chicken gets soft (you will know it is soft when you can cut a piece easily with your fork or spoon) Add garam masala powder and cooking cream and simmer for another 2 to 3 mins on low heat Garnish with chopped fresh green chillies and coriander leaves if preferred KEEP IN TOUCH FOOD LOVERS - My email - [email protected].
