Host Suzanne James talks to Jan Willis, a retired Palliative Care Nurse from NSW who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and has obtained approval for Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD). Jan shares her VAD journey in support of others and to raise awareness of the VAD process. They discuss Jan's MND diagnosis, the three-month process of applying for VAD, support for applicants and families, and how approval for VAD has greatly improved the quality of time Jan has left with her family. Jan also outlines obtaining approval to be the first to use VAD at her local multi purpose service care unit where she plans to go to complete her final journey when the time comes.
