In this video, hear from Rob, our Manager Waste and Infrastructure, about items that should go in your lime green-lidded FOGO bin, and how the transition to FOGO will affect your bin collection schedule. Read more about Subiaco's transition to FOGO here: https://www.subiaco.wa.gov.au/FOGO ------------------------ TRANSCRIPT: Hi, I'm Rob Willey Manager of Waste and Infrastructure services here at the City of Subiaco. Next month, City of Subiaco residents will receive their lime green lidded FOGO Bin, a small FOGO kitchen caddy and two rolls of compostable FOGO caddy liners and of course, some information on how to use it all. Before you start to use your FOGO bin, it's essential to know what can and can't be classified as FOGO waste. FOGO waste is anything that can break down to make compost. Examples of food waste include fruit and vegetable scraps, leftover seafood, meat, bread and dairy products. Examples of garden waste include flowers, garden trimmings, prunings and leaves, and minor quantities of paper products, including soiled paper towels, napkins and tissues can also go into your FOGO bin. Items like food packaging, clothes, glass and metal belong in your general waste bin. Items like batteries, aerosol cans and pesticides should be taken to the West Metro Recycling Centre. None of these belong in your FOGO bin. As we shift to a three bin FOGO system, your bin collection schedule will change. Your green lidded FOGO bin will be collected weekly and your red lidded waste bin and yellow lidded recycle bin will be collected fortnightly on alternate weeks, but your bins will still be collected on the same day. The city's FOGO team are here to help if you have any questions about these upcoming changes. For more information on FOGO Bins and the FOGO waste service, visit our website at subiaco.wa.gov.au/FOGO
