We are on the ex-Erie mainline near Wellsville and Elm Valley New York, as we watch WNY&PA ex-CN C630M #638, and ex-PC C430 #431 heading east bound toward Hornell NY. The train is running track speed past a lake on jointed rail. This is a sound that was all to familiar before the use of continuous weld rail, and not heard much anymore. As the train passes, you can see a Blue Heron flying east with the train over the units. We pace the train as it comes to a stop. Not sure of the reason, but he continued his eastward move after we passed. At a rural crossing near Elm Valley, we watch the Alco's accelerate and blue his horn for the crossing. Video was taken with a Sony Digital 8 camcorder on June 7th, 2009. Thanks for watching. copyright jackmp294.5™ © 2012 do not use without permission...
