And due to its extreme location, being just a 1 hour flight from Antarctica, it's very difficult to access! The only 3 ways are: 1). A 30 hour, 600km ferry from Punta Arenas, the nearest city in Chile. 2). 45 minute flight from Punta Arenas, 2400km south of Santiago, Chile's Capital. 3). 45 minute long Passenger Boat from Ushuaia, Argentina across the Beagle Channel, followed by a 2 hour drive on a 50km one lane dirt road Why Was Puerto Williams founded in the first place?
