The Security Department in Isiolo County has successfully recovered 16 firearms that had been in the hands of criminals. This follows an ongoing security operation being conducted in the area. Among the firearms recovered are Mark 4 rifles, AK-47s, and M16 rifles. While giving an update on the operation, Isiolo County security officials said they have also managed to recover goats, cattle, and camels that had been stolen and were in the possession of criminals. The security officials commended residents for continuing to provide information that has helped in the recovery of the illegal weapons. They urged those still in possession of illegal firearms to surrender them. However, they noted that more than 500 firearms are still believed to be in the hands of criminals and must be surrendered immediately. At the same time, the police commander, Isaac Sang, warned boda boda riders against engaging in the transportation and trade of drugs and other narcotics.
