Wait… Is This Really Kyiv?! I often ask myself this question whenever I see something so cool, futuristic, and uncommon in Kyiv, Ukraine. Yes, it is! This is the side of Kyiv tourists never see. It’s the side of Kyiv that even many locals don’t know! Today, I decided to take a completely unfamiliar route—even for me and my friends. I wanted to feel like a tourist in my own city. So, I took the metro to Zvirynetska Station and started my little Kyiv trip from Maria Prymachenko Boulevard. I enjoyed a beautiful coffee break at a café called Druzhba: / druzhba.kyiv (“Friendship” in English), and then walked along Ioanna Pavla II Street to reach Velyka Vasylkivska Street. On my way, I discovered so many impressive skyscrapers I had never noticed before. It was just… wow… Kyiv, is it really you? For a moment, I truly felt like I was in Singapore, but no—this is our amazing capital of Ukraine. On Velyka Vasylkivska Street, we’ll explore a local street market, the Palace of Ukraine Concert Hall, the stunning St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, and the Olimpiyskyi Stadium. The whole route takes about 45 minutes on foot, but if you stop for coffee and pictures (and you definitely will!), it can be closer to 90 minutes—and still, that’s not much at all! With this video, I wanted to show you that anytime, you can become a tourist in your own city. I’m sure there are hidden places waiting to surprise you, lift your mood, and bring you joy. The hardest part is simply stepping outside your home and letting the adventures begin! I hope this new video about the diversity of Kyiv inspires you to visit one day—and, of course, to become a never-tired explorer of your own beautiful city. See you soon in the next Kyiv video, my dear friends!
