Boca Grande, Florida - After the rain

SW Florida woke up to 77 degrees. We have had heavy rain and thunderstorms the past several days. Some of the lightening was pretty scary. The thunder actually shakes your house. It was nice to get out of the house after all the rain. Storms were still on the horizon to hit again later in the afternoon. This morning, though, while walking you can feel those bugs biting you. It was not enjoyable at all. I would assume that with all the sea grass that was on the shoreline as well as all the rain we have had that those bugs were ready to bite. Did not stay at the beach too long and as you can see from the video the beach was pretty empty. The sky with the clouds was really pretty to see. I could hear thunder out in the ocean. The water was really wavy this morning. Still hoping that one morning I can see the sea turtles arise. The parking on the island topic has a lot of discussion going on. I would say that most do not like the proposal that is laid out as it will most likely impact the businesses on the island financially. If people do not have parking that is convenient to get to the beach, to go paddle boarding, to visit the island they will not come. It appears that a few are trying to make the island private instead of sharing with all. There are many articles, letters etc written on the subject on the Boca Beacon website if you care to look up and read. It appears that the proposal is to be voted on in early August. I will keep you informed as I read any updates. I hope wherever you are watching this video, that it brings you some happiness to your day.
