After a very short turn around time and an amazing amount of effort and smarts, Steve got the bike ready for the short trip to The Bend Motorsport Park as seen in the earlier video, then made some basic changes ready for Adelaide Motorsport Festival. It was silver red and blue back then with an aircooled motor. The rider was Malcolm Heath and the 1st race was Darley Moor started at the back of the grid and finished 3rd in the wet. Two weeks later Malcolm got a 1st and a 2nd as a wildcard at the battle of the twins Snetterton. In 1988 #347 became the press bike and was fitted out in the new JPS sponsored livery. It was the press bike for the magazines, journalist rode it to get a feel of the bike for the first time. Sold into private hands it moved to Italy then back to the UK. The new owner had a Steve Cull works bike and the two made #347 the 1st raced frame and 1st raced water cooled engine (RCW1) together. RCW1 got Robert Dunlop 2nd at the Portuguese GP behind Foggy. It was paraded around the UK at many events including the TT all the works riders and many other A grade riders have graced the seat of #347. It’s now in Australia with another works Norton 1st The NRS that Ron Haslam’s won on debut in 1991 at Brands Hatch got a 1st and 2nd that weekend. NRS001 Harris frame one of only 5 frames made. 002 is in Italy and the NMM has 093, 004 and 005.
