Welcome back to Poppy Cotton Adventures! Day 4 took us to the far northeastern tip of mainland Britain for some wild, windy, and wonderfully weird sights. We woke up at Castle View B&B, ready to tackle Duncansby Stacks and John o’ Groats. Google Maps tried to get us to trespass on someone's driveway, but we found the proper parking lot because, as I said, "This is where the fun begins!". The walk to the sea stacks was an obstacle course of sheep sh*t everywhere—seriously, sheep are Scotland! At John o’ Groats, the end of the road, we snagged coffee, took a photo at the iconic signpost, and then I found Paddington Bear chilling on a bench. We pointed the car toward Smoo Cave but not before stopping at Ceannabeinne Beach. This tropical-looking cove was our slice of Highland Heaven, where Holly and I raced and frolicked. I was ambushed by midges (no-see-ums!) before we finally explored the massive Smoo Cave, a cavern carved by sea and freshwater erosion. Stick around for fish and chips, the best hot chocolate ever, and me singing along to Little River Band as we chase a rainbow to Kylesku Bridge. Join us as we explore the wild, woolly, and beautiful edge of the world!
