A Brief History of Mary Castle!

Mary Castle was born Mary Ann Noblett on January 22, 1931, on a ranch in Pampa, Texas, the daughter of Erby and Myrtle E. Noblett. A Hollywood talent scout saw Mary’s picture in a magazine. Without any acting experience, she signed a long-term contract with a major movie studio. It wasn’t for her acting skills, or even her amazing good looks, but her uncanny resemblance to another very successful actress, Rita Hayworth, who had recently broken her contract with the studio to marry a prince. At first, her resemblance seemed like a golden opportunity. But in time, it became more of a burden than a blessing. However, there was more to it than that. Mary has issues that brought down what could have been a successful film career, a mental health condition that, sadly, went undiagnosed until after her career was over.
