In this edition of Tone Taste I swap out the original wraparound bridge of my made in Japan 2005 Gretsch Malcolm Young for a Graphtech ResoMax NW2 in nickel. Why the change? Well first off let me say that I love this guitar. When I first started to get serious about guitar in the mid-80s, I learnt a lot playing along to AC/DC. While this model is not quite like Malcolm’s original, it’s very close and sounds/plays great. That said it’s always sounded a bit “plinky” (best way I can describe it) to me … I think what I’m trying to say is that it lacked midrange and sustain. I purchased the Graphtech ResoMax NW2 with the hope it would help beef up the midrange and sustain. Do you think it delivers? And was it worth the $150 + hour or so of my time to make the replacement/set-up adjustments? Have a listen to the comparison and let me know what you thing in the comments. Thanks for watching! #gretsch #gretschmalcolmyoung #grapthech #wraparoundbridge #malcolmyoung #acdc #yamahathr10c #gretschjapan #madeinjapan #GraphtechResoMaxNW2
