Mecklenburg County health officials are giving an update after two cases of measles were confirmed this week. Public health authorities are investigating a confirmed case in an adult who contracted measles through contact with a traveler, and a case in an unvaccinated child who had been in contact with a child from the Spartanburg, South Carolina area who had the disease. Both patients are recovering at home in isolation. An outbreak of measles has affected over 600 people in South Carolina, officials said Thursday. The contact investigation for the adult case is complete, while officials continue tracing potential exposures from the child's case.
