Filmed at various locations along the Inlandsbanan and the Storuman - Hällnäs cross-country line in mid-September (week 37) in 2025. Due to extensive weather, large damage occurred to both the lines Botniabanan and Stambanan through upper Norrland, where a freight train also derailed at Skorped. Because of this, the railway connection between northern and southern Scandinavia was almost completely broken - If it weren't for the Inlandsbanan. It took a day or so, but soon freight train diversions started via the Inlandsbanan. Trains such as the North Rail Express and the Arctic Rail Express, which are critical transports between Oslo and Northern Norway, began to be diverted via the Inlandsbanan in order to reach their destinations. The first company to do so was OnRail with NRE, followed by CargoNet with the ARE (Arctic Rail Express). Green Cargo's steel train between Borlänge and Luleå also eventually used the Inlandsbanan to reach its destination. All trains were routed via Östersund - Storuman - Hällnäs. OnRail and CargoNet operated EuroDual locomotives from Stadler on the Inlandsbanan, a locomotive that can run on both electric and diesel power. Regular traxx locomotives accompanied the transport at the rear of the train. Crew from Inlandsbanan were on board as pilots on those trains. Green Cargo handed over its transports to Inlandståg on the Östersund - Storuman route, where the trains were pulled by multiple-coupled TMZ/T44/Di3. Between Storuman and Hällnäs, the trains were pulled by Green Cargo themselves with double Td engines. Since the carrying capacity on the Inlandsbanan is limited, the length of the steel trains was heavily reduced. In this very special video, you can follow along and see these unique transports at different times of the day. The locations where the video was recorded are Vilhelmina station, the triangle track in Storuman, Lycksele station and Hoting station. The locomotives seen in the video are ED/95/195, Td, TMZ and Di3.
