7-11-2021 - Just replace the batteries again. Otherwise, it's still going strong. 10-23-2020 - The vacuum in still going strong. Had to replace the brush again. Other than that it still does the job. 3-9-2019 - The vacuum in still functioning well. No problems other than the occasional clear my path message. 5-28-2018 - The vacuum in still functioning well. But, this is something that I usually cause by not having a large enough area for the vacuum to turn around in...such as beneath the kitchen table where all the legs of the chairs are there. Sometimes my little dog will leave a dog treat under the bed and the vacuum gets it stuck in the brush. I just clear it out and it finishes the job. 11-4-2017 - The vacuum is still functioning good. The brush is worn out from all these years of it being used on a rug. 7-22-2017 - Had to replace the batteries again. The first time I replaced them was 6-18-2016. They only lasted a year. Other than that, the vacuum still works fine. 1-8-2017 - The vacuum's ability to find it's position stopped. The problem was traced to the little electric motor that turns the Lidar. This motor is replaceable. I found a replacement in eBay. Just search for this: Mabuchi RF-500TB-12560 Mini DC Motor DC 1.5-12V 2700RPM 32mm Diameter DC Motor 6-18-2016 - Had to replace both batteries. The vacuum would not hold a charge for longer than 10 minutes. This seemed to happen all of a sudden. 3-26-2016 - Still Working fine. 9-6-2015 - Still working fine. 6-4-2015 - Unit is still working fine. 3-22-2015 - The unit is still working fine. No problems at all. 12-31-2014 - The unit is still working fine. There was one time it acted like it was lost but it did return to normal after about 2 minutes. I have the vacuum set to clean Thursday and Monday's. 10-18-2014 - The unit is still working very well. No problems at this time. I have it scheduled to vacuum Monday, Wednesday's and Friday. I'm writing some of my thoughts about my newly acquired Neato Vacuum. This is on 9-25-2014 as a reference point. Things will change if something happens to the unit. As of today (9-25-2014), the vacuum is working great. It performs well and so far I'm satisfied. From all the research I've done online, I'm not expecting this unit to last very long. They seem to have a history of failures. However, this is what I've experienced so far.... Once the Neato XV Signature Pro vacuum maps out the perimeter of the room, it then cleans the center of it in a back and forth pattern as demonstrated in this video. I think the vacuum does a great job covering 97% of the floor. It doesn't vacuum all the way against the walls or around table/chair legs very good but that's the way the body of the unit was designed. The newest Neato Botvac series has a longer brush that extends almost to the right edge and a sweeper brush (also on the right edge) to get into those areas better. So far after a week of ownership, I've had the vacuum get stuck (twice) on an office chair leg due to the chairs legs being low and at an angle. It wants to ride up on top of the legs instead of go around them. It has never gotten stuck around my 4 chair kitchen table. It also picked up a string from the outer edge of an entry-way throw rug which made the brush stall; the rug is worn around the edges. Anyway, I had to remove the string to get it going again. It wasn't the vacuums fault for that happening so I couldn't get angry. Before I let the vacuum clean the house, I pick up items like the dogs food and water bowl, plus any shoes or electrical cables that may get in the way of the vacuum. I also have low hanging blankets on my beds that hit the floor so I also pick them up to clear the vacuums path for under-bed cleaning. My house is just shy of 1000 sq-ft and the vacuum will clean the entire house with just one trip back to recharge before proceeding to clean the rest. The vacuum has always found it's way back to the base station to recharge itself. I find that the sensors on the sides of the vacuum do not work very well against a black wall (such as my aquarium cabinet you see in my video). As it travels along side of the cabinet, it bounces off of it but will continue to travel forward without a problem.
