"Pure Griffith Build" Not really a "fun" build I recommend other players. It's a challenge build. During my normal playthrough, I got pissed. My go to weapon was Eleonora's Poleblade. Broken Weapon IMO. Thing procs bleed and does fire damage. Able to close distances with the target and great for breaking poise. But I kept failing after hours of attempts. So I resorted to cheesing Radahn with the: Fingerprint Stone Shield. Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear. And Moore's Armour Set. I beat him after 4 attempts. I did NOT feel good. I felt ashamed that I had to use that tactic. Not trying to bring shame on other's who had to do this. But I had to farm at Mohgwyn's palace to level my strength to 48, and I beat the game at level 287. Not even New Game+. Having to resort to this easy build and farm for levels felt like the game was patronizing me. Like the game is saying "You're allowed to farm runes, it's okay. Use magic too, they're there to help you. Don't forget about Summons too. You can even have another player enter your world to help you." It's how I percieved the game and it annoyed me, so loaded up another save that I had to go again. I beat the base game two other times, Since I beat the game with Eleonora's Poleblade, which procs bleed (and people keep saying it's too broken), I wanted to do challenge runs that don't take advantage of status effects/build ups, which includes Poison, Scarlet Rot, Blood Loss, Frostbite, Sleep, Madness, Death Blight status effects. One of the builds I used to beat the Base Game is my Pure Guts Build: 1. Gut's Greatsword + Lion Claw, Heavy Affinity, Ash of War. 2. Kukri throwable knives. 3. Fire Pots. 4. Pulley Crossbow. 5. No magic, No Summons, No Wonderous Physic Either. I have to reason the items I use as things Guts has used in the Manga/Anime. 6. Only consumables are the Crimson and Cerulean Flasks 7. Any talisman goes but by the endgame, I had Shard of Alexander, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, Green Turtle Talisman, and Bull-Goat's Talisman. I call it "Pure" because I make-believe my build is source accurate. After beating the game that way, I felt Like I had to challenge myself more. I've read people rating the Greatsword as a pretty good weapons and most of the ghost phantoms I see use it. So I wanted a build that most people would not go for. A build I wouldn't even recomend playing the game with. The second build I used to beat the Base Game is my Pure Griffith Build: 1. Rapier One Handing Only + Piercing Fang, Keen Affinity, Ash of War. 2. Any Armour as long as equipment stays in the "Light Load," No "Medium" or "heavy" loads allowed. 3. Only consumables are the Crimson and Cerulean Flasks. 4. Any talisman goes but by the endgame, I had Shard of Alexander, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, Green Turtle Talisman, and Bull-Goat's Talisman. 5. And like the Pure Guts build, No magic, No Summons, No Wonderous Physic Either. I have to reason the items I use as things Griffith, before Eclipse, has used in the Manga/Anime. Griffith never dual wielded his Sabre, nor has he used another weapon in the Manga (except a spear one time and a crossbow too). Rapier is one of the weakest weapons in the game but it looks the most accurate. cough unlike the Bloody Helice cough. The Ash of War is pretty strong since it can close distances well, and I argue that it's a move Griffith would pull off. It's also not magic related. I noticed that Griffith's Sabre could be justified as a Katana, but all Katanas proc bleed build up, and bleed is too broken for this challenge run. So just the Thrusting Sword Rapier only for this challenge. So after beating the DLC with my overleveled Eleonora's Poleblade Build, I skipped over attempting the DLC with my Pure Guts Build and went straight to the Griffith Build. Before beating the DLC, I clocked in: 27.5 hours. 376 death. 146 levels. After the DLC, I clocked out at: 50 hours. 706 deaths. 163 levels. Which means I spend 22.5 hours in the DLC with 330 deaths. Surely 12 of those hours and 200 of those deaths were on the Yaoi couple. 0:00 Phase 1 1:30 Phase 2 2:16 Accidentally Swapped my Rapier 2:35 Phase 2 pt.2 6:00 IRL Victory Dance Break 6:30 Build
