This was a musical interlude at the SOAS Graduation on 22 July 2015 am. You can find out more about SOAS at https://www.soas.ac.uk and more about studying music at SOAS at https://www.soas.ac.uk/music Wang Xiao is a professional erhu (2-stringed fiddle) virtuoso. Born in Luoyang, central China, she started playing the erhu from the age of six, graduating from the Wuhan Conservatory of Music and playing as a soloist with the Luoyang Symphony Orchestra on the erhu and banhu fiddles. Since moving to London, she has performed regularly in the UK and Europe, both as a member of the UK Chinese Music ensemble and with the award winning Silk String Quartet. Li Ming was born in Shenyang, north-eastern China, and trained as a yangqin (hammered dulcimer) player from a young age and is also a versatile and accomplished performer on the dizi and xiao (bamboo flutes), hulusi (gourd chest), and erhu (2-stringed fiddle). He has performed extensively with the Chinese Ensemble including such major venues as the Purcell Room, Royal Festival Hall and the Edinburgh Festival.
