Sicily → Malta → Rome A 12-Day Journey | Warren & Jules This film follows twelve days of moving through the world together— from Dallas–Fort Worth, through Rome, down into Sicily, across to Malta, and back again. It isn’t a travel guide or a checklist of must-see places. It’s simply where we went, what we experienced, and how it felt to be there. Shot across three cameras (Fuji X-T3, DJI Pocket, GoPro 10), this is a long, slow travelogue— made mostly for friends and family, and for ourselves, so we don’t forget. Palermo — Where the City Speaks First Palermo was our first hello to Sicily. Loud, layered, and unapologetically alive. We walked everywhere—through Quattro Canti and narrow streets, past musicians playing like the day depended on it, through markets filled with voices, movement, and color. Inside quiet churches, gold mosaics caught the light. On rooftops, the city opened up beneath us. In old palaces, history felt close—less like a museum, more like a living room. One day we escaped the city and took a trip to Cefalù— a beach town tucked between the mountains and the sea. We swam, walked the shoreline, let the salt and sun reset everything, then slipped back into Palermo’s rhythm like we’d never left. One night ended with dinner above the city, fireworks in the distance for reasons we never learned. It felt like Palermo saying, welcome… and don’t expect this place to slow down for you. Taormina — Light, Stone, and Unrushed Time Taormina slowed everything down. We arrived by train, the coastline rolling past the windows, and immediately felt the shift. Arch to arch, piazza to piazza, a town that seems to understand exactly how beautiful it is and doesn’t feel the need to explain itself. We wandered Corso Umberto, watched the light change, and let entire hours pass without checking the time. One day was given completely to the water. Clear blue, stillness, nothing planned. Just being there was enough. Catania — Living in the Shadow of Fire Catania felt different—darker stone, younger energy, a city shaped by fire as much as history. We walked its streets, sat in its cafés, and felt Mount Etna nearby even when we couldn’t see it. A presence. Still alive. Still shaping everything around it. The next day took us closer— to volcanic slopes and vineyards growing from hardened lava. A reminder that even in places born from destruction, people find ways to create beauty. Malta — Stone, Sea, and Silence A short flight carried us to Malta, where time feels stacked in layers of stone. We wandered old cities, then crossed to Gozo, and finally out to the Blue Lagoon— water so bright it barely feels real, the kind of place that slows your breathing without asking. Rome — Returning the Way We Came We ended where we began. Back in Rome, walking at night, throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain like so many before us— not wishing for anything specific, just grateful for the road that brought us there. Thanks for watching and sharing this journey with us. If you’re family or a friend, this one’s for you. And if you found it by accident— we’re glad you stayed. — Warren & Jules
