Lift the car's sculpted hood and you'll find a potent LS1 Generation III V8 that, with the aid of a new high flow carbon fiber air box and black mass airflow sensors, delivers in excess of 400 horsepower. First off, 381 honored classic muscle car tradition of under rating the car's engine; and secondly, 381 was a largely symbolic number which included Dale's storied number 3, his son Dale Jr.'s family-derived number 8 and his other driver Steve Park's current number 1. Utilizing an aluminum block and heads, an LS6 intake, a revised cam, flat top pistons and coil near plug ignition, this car's efficient overhead valve mill is a conservatively rated Mustang slayer which features big power and a Kansas-flat torque curve. Stops come courtesy of power four wheel disc brakes which feature dimpled rotors and standard anti-lock software. Spent gases flow through aluminized factory pipes to a chambered GMMG cat back exhaust system that's capped with fresh stainless tips. And at the corners of the car, 17 inch American Racing 200S wheels, which are a direct nod to SCCA racers of the late 60s, spin sticky 275/40 Goodyear Eagle F1 radials around Magnetallic Gray spokes and chrome center caps. Inside this Camaro, fresh bucket leather seats adjust electronically up front and fit like a glove all around; and a leather-clad steering wheel sports convenient thumb controls for the car's awesome Monsoon premium sound system. The instrument panel is a familiar, and highly legible, GM layout which features a built in Driver Information Center next to bright argent gauges which mimic the instrumentation in Dale's race car. And below the dash mounted Intimidator SS specs plaque, a crystal clear Monsoon head unit bumps beats through a high power amplifier and eight high quality speakers.
