Omnipotence is dead. At least according to a recent argument put forward by Thomas J Oord in his latest book the Death of Omnipotence and the Birth of Amipotence. There, Oord argues Omnipotence has no biblical support, dying a death of a thousand qualifications in philosophy. Further Oord points to the problem of pain and evil as reasons to reject Omnipotence. However, he argues the death of omnipotence is not the death of God. Joining Idol Killer to discuss the concept and claims surrounding Oord's views on Amipotence is none other than Thomas J Oord and Ryan Mullins. Thomas Jay Oord, Ph.D., is a theologian, philosopher, and scholar of multi-disciplinary studies. Oord directs the Center for Open and Relational Theology and doctoral students at Northwind Theological Seminary. He is an award-winning author and has written or edited more than thirty books. A gifted speaker, Oord lectures at universities, conferences, churches, and institutions. He is known for his contributions to research on love, science and religion, open and relational theology, the problem of suffering, and the implications of freedom for transformational relationships. ✈️ Visit his website: thomasjayoord.com 📚 The Death of Omnipotence and Birth of Amipotence https://amzn.to/3pmPLuW (Idol Killer receives a small commission on purchases which use the above links.)
