Recording RDA Elements in MARC 21 Fields in Name Authority Records

http://ala.org/alcts An ALCTS Webinar RDA: Resource, Description & Access contains instructions for recording FRAD attributes (called elements in RDA) for persons, families, and corporate bodies in name authority records. The MARC 21 Format for Authority Data was enhanced with new or redefined fields to accommodate these instructions and most have been in use since October of 2010. This webinar will focus on the use of these new fields in RDA authority records and will present best practices for providing that information in MARC-based name authority records. Presented on September 12, 2012 by Ana Lupe Cristán, policy specialist in cooperative cataloging programs at the Library of Congress' Policy and Standards Division (PSD).
